ALEX WHORMS
Alex is a talented musician who has a unique perspective on the world of pop music. Unlike many of her peers, she didn't grow up idolizing Justin Bieber or One Direction, but rather, she was drawn to the classical works of composers like Chopin and Beethoven.
Now, as a musician and songwriter, she brings a fresh and unique sound to the world of pop music, infusing her songs with classical influences and a deeply personal touch. NIK HIRST AND RED MEMORY
Nik Hirst has found solace and strength in the power of music. With a background in both jazz and rock, he has honed his skills and crafted a unique sound that is all his own. But there's more to his music than just catchy tunes and impressive solos. For him, music is a means of creating something truly meaningful - a way to inspire and uplift others, and to contribute to the world of art and culture. Drawing from his own struggles with mental health, he has created works that speak to the challenges that so many of us face in our daily lives. His music is a reminder that we are not alone, and that there is always hope, even in the darkest of times.
VALENTYN ZADOIANOV
Valentyn is a very talented multi-instrumentalist. His music is rooted in celtic, folk, and medieval traditions. He has come all the way from Crimea in Ukraine. During troubled times, he and his family found a safe haven in Canada. His story is one of resilience and perseverance.
ROCKET AND THE RENEGADES
Robin Magder is an inspiring musician from Hamilton who proves that it's never too late to pursue your passion! She started playing music at the age of 21, but took a break for 20 years to raise her children as a single mom. Now, at the age of 61, she's back on stage playing Country Rock with energetic and upbeat songs that will keep you dancing all night long!
CARLOS CARDOZO
Carlos Cardozo arrived in Canada in 2003 and worked his way up in this country. Like thousands of other immigrants, he started in cleaning jobs, worked in construction and went on to study at several Canadian universities. In 2017 he decided to quit a stable job in IT to pursue a career in music, becoming one of the most promising new musicians in Canada.
G PINTO
G Pinto is a great violinist that loves experimenting with music. He mixes classical and contemporary music effortlessly, creating beautiful songs. With influences ranging from Mozart to Justin Bieber, his music is powerful and unique.
MUTE SOUNDS
Rui is a musician who has overcome incredible challenges to pursue his passion for music. While pursuing a career as a drummer, he suffered a devastating blow. After feeling pain in his throat, he was diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer. Enduring a long and painful treatment, he emerged victorious but was left without one of the most essential tools of his trade: his voice. But even in the face of this immense setback, he refused to give up on his love for music. While still in the hospital, he taught himself to play guitar and soon after, started an instrumental band that has been wowing audiences ever since. His story is a testament to the power of perseverance and determination, and his music speaks to the incredible strength and resilience of the human spirit.
BRENNEN SLOAN
Brennen comes all the way from Oshawa and loves writing about the Province of Ontario and its people. His music pays tribute to all the brave and talented Canadians who came before him.
THE ANDROID MEME
The Android Meme is a band that is not afraid to tackle the tough issues. Their music is like a modern-day news broadcast, bringing important topics to the forefront and encouraging critical thinking and self-awareness. While they may have a political edge, this band is non-partisan, striving to present different viewpoints and encourage debate and discussion. They are passionate about exploring the complexities of geopolitics and shining a light on issues that often go overlooked. But it's not all about the world at large - this band is also focused on internal discovery and personal growth. Their music is a powerful reminder to look inward and strive for greater self-awareness and understanding. One thing you won't find in their repertoire? Love ballads. This band is all about substance over style, and they're not afraid to take on the big issues.
MADISON GALLOWAY
Madison comes all the way from Fergus, Ontario. With influences that range from classical music to Blues, Folk, and progressive rock, she was able to create a very unique aesthetic blending all theses elements together into beautiful melodies.
CHERRYL BOWER & SUSAN O'QUIN
Cherryl Bower and Susan O'Quin are two very talented women who decided to use their music to shed light on social injustices in our society. Cherryl is a gifted actress and musician who created one of the most successful choir groups in the country, Voices Rock Canada. Susan is a social worker and singer-songwriter from Newfoundland. From Mi’kmaq background, She uses her music as a form of healing and reconciliation between Indigenous and non-indigenous peoples in Canada.
